Heel pain could be Plantar fasciitis. This is a painful condition affecting the heel, caused by an overstretching of the plantar fascia or plantar aponeurosis that helps support the inner arch of the foot.

What is Heel Pain?

Pain is usually felt as a sharp intense pain or bruising ache on the underside of the heel and is often most intense as you step out of bed first in the morning, or after periods of rest. It is also commonly associated with changes in weight bearing or activity. Jobs that require a lot of walking on hard surfaces, shoes with little or no arch support.

Plantar fasciitis is primarily caused by an underlying Biomechanical fault within the foot and often seen as a result of your feet continually rolling inwards, placing a mechanical strain on the insertion of the plantar fascia.

Treatment is often helped by using Orthotic insoles.
